I have just been booked to perform in the famous Vauxhall gardens… home of the famous 18 Century pleasure gardens. Punch and Judy shows must have been very popular at that time in London Vauxhall Pleasure gardens had their heyday in the 17 and 18th century in London. In fact the symbol on the radiator of the Vauxhall car was originally on the gates of Vauxhall Gardens. So Punch and Judy is now coming back to South London. I will be doing three Punch and Judy shows throughout the day, in the historic setting of kennington South London. Now thats is the way to do it!

Very pleased to be doing a school presentation of Punch and Judy tomorrow in Newhaven.
I’ll giving a short talk about the history of Punch and Judy and how it started moving to the Seaside in the Victorian era, mainly of course to the advent of the railway. This is designed to fit in with the key stage 1 and key stage 2 topics
It will be an audience of about 70 children. So it should be a lot of fun :)

Hello and welcome to the Brighton Punch and Judy blog. With the summer coming up there has been plenty of things to do to get the show ready for the new season. I have finally added the giant spider to the show, which is proving to be quite a hit. Joey the clown now has his own little number to open the show. He does his tambourine dance, while his slightly mad brother Frank plays the cymbals. I am hopin

g to get a few videos up of some of the highlights of the show as soon as I have worked out how to operate the camera!

Mr Punch is looking forward to a school show in Newhaven in a couple of days, last week he performed for and audience of 350 school children is Selsey so he is a bit full of himself at the moment. I do think Punch tends to forget who is the one with talent here :)

Well here is to a busy summer of weddings and fetes… still a few dates left but book early to avoid disappointment!!
